A Protected Fund is a type of Mutual Fund that will protect 100% of the investor's principal investment at maturity. This Mutual Fund has a predetermined investment period set by the Investment Manager, but can be redeemed before maturity without a guarantee of principal protection. Unlike Open-ended Mutual Funds and Index Funds, Protected Funds have an offering period, so investors can only purchase this Mutual Fund at specific times.
A Limited Offering Mutual Fund is a vehicle used to collect funds from Professional Investors, which are subsequently invested by the Investment Manager in a portfolio of Securities or a portfolio directly related to projects, such as the Real Sector, infrastructure sector and others. A Professional Investor is an investor with the capability to purchase Units of Participation and conduct risk analysis on a Limited Offering Mutual Fund in the form of a Collective Investment Contract. Units of Participation of a Limited Offering Mutual Fund in the form of a Collective Investment Contract are offered on a limited basis only to Professional Investors and are prohibited from being offered through a Public Offering and/or prohibited from being held by 50 (fifty) or more Parties.
